UC Irvine Students Compete for Which Group is 'Most Oppressed.' They're All Losers...
2016 sure did bring us a lot of racism on college campuses (see College Professor: ‘You Can’t Have Peace If Whiteness Exists’ and College Employee Assaults White Student… For ‘Racist’ Dreadlocks). University of California's answer? A Students of Color Conference, to discuss serious issues air grievances. And here we thought Festivus was at the end of the week!
It rapidly turned into what's being called an "oppression olympics..."
The crux of the debate centered around the conference theme: “Fighting Anti-Blackness.” Apparently it was not communicated to students that the conference would have a particular theme this year. Students began arguing when it became known that the conference would focus almost exclusively on discrimination against the African American community. One of the students raised a question about why the only issues being discussed were those involving anti-blackness. This promoted an African-American student to respond that black students are the most oppressed. Then a Muslim student made a comment about her people being bombed in the Middle East.
This exchange, and others like it, resulted in the cancellation of several sessions on the second day of the conference. Above all, conference participants each wanted to focus on their own particular minority issue.
I so do love it when leftists turn on each other. The left has been dividing people into groups and playing them off each other for decades. Now, something about chickens and homes come to mind. Every group thinks their minority is the most oppressed. Further, they want their group to be seen as the most oppressed. There's an active competition over who is the greater victim.
Think about that. According to the tenets of liberalism, there is more valor in being the greater victim than there is fighting this alleged oppression. If you can shed the most fake tears, if you can prove you're the most aggrieved, you receive all the participation trophies liberalism can steal from people who actually achieved something. Or who at least participated while attempting to achieve something.
Oh hell. You know what I mean. Leftist ninnies are now competing not in sports, not in academics, but in who is the greater victim. This is how they compete. This is how they prove their worth to each other. It's how they spend their abundant free-time. That is until they start demanding to be paid more for less work. In which case they'll tell you how victimized they are by reality.
I hate them.
