A friend in the business opined recently how upcoming sports journalismers are more concerned with woke activism and only have a marginal interest in sports. "Sports" is nothing more than their vessel for "the message." These journalismers then go out and prove my friend right over and over and over again. My favorite is the hockey journalismer who told a player to GO BACK TO RUSSIA if he didn't want to wear the Pride shirt. So it's no surprise a Canadian one would dig up a "homophobic" 2021 tweet for his question to UFC's Sean Strickland.

Side note: Strickland is the new middleweight champion and is set to make his first title defense against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 297 in Toronto. That's what the press conference was for. But UFC, Schmufc. The journalismer wanted to get political. So Strickland got political by pointing out to the "f*cking pathetic" member of the press how much it must suck to live in Canada.

“You elected Justin Trudeau. The fact that you have no f*cking backbone and as he shut down your f*cking country and seized bank accounts, you ask me some f*cking stupid sh*t like that? Go f*ck yourself. Move the f*ck on, man. F*cking coward.”

Strickland is referencing the Freedom Convoy, where Canadians fighting to support their families peacefully protested against Trudeau's draconian lockdown measures preventing that, and where Trudeau declared martial law on them. The media, as you can imagine, sided against the people in favor of shilling for the government.

The reporter still wanted to know what Strickland would say to the LGBTQ+AIIPEIEIO community in Toronto, many of whom I'm guessing don't know who Strickland is let alone care that he tweeted a thing three years ago. Strickland's answer, while he risked arrest since they don't have things like free speech in Canada, was one that people without an agenda will agree with.

"I don't give a f*ck who you f*ck. I don't give a f*ck what you want to do in life. But don't f*cking tell kids about it. Don't teach that sh*t in f*ck school. Don't push your agenda ... and go past parents, you f*cking cuck."

And here everyone thought the "controversy" was going to be Strickland's comments about new UFC sponsor Bud Light. We'll have to wait for Joe Rogan to interview him in the Octagon on Saturday night for that.

Though, we do have Dana White's response when he's grilled on this before then. That will be fun.
