It's been pointed out that immediately after former UFC Champion Ronda Rousey endorsed Bernie Sanders (which was disappointing considering her awesome responses regarding "identity politics" and how she has destroyed the equal pay myth more than once), she suffered her first lost to new Champion Holly Holm. It's known as "Dead Man's Socialism Curse." Look it up.

Looks like Holly Holm might dodge it. As she recently opened up on who she supports.

Professional fighter Holly Holm says she admires Donald Trump’s ability to accomplish his goals.

“He seems to get stuff done,” she said of the GOP presidential front-runner during an interview with TMZ.

The UFC women’s bantamweight champion stopped short of promising she would vote for Trump, though.

“I don’t know who I’m going to vote for yet,” Holm said. "I’m still thinking.”

Ok, ok, so not an endorsement per say. However, it definitely says something when, instead of defaulting to the two celebrity-safe endorsements (Sanders or Clinton), she instead went with Trump. Plus she wouldn't be the first in the UFC to come out in support, because President Dana White has already said he's voting for Donald Trump himself.

Also, considering that Holly Holm's nickname is "The Preacher's Daughter," her Conservative leanings really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone paying attention. So when she says "I'm still thinking," you can bet that she's "thinking" between Cruz, Rubio and Trump. It's not a toss-up between Trump and alleged rape cover up artist Hillary Clinton.

Now, yes, we wrote about Ronda Rousey quite a bit while she was champion. I always contended that she was a Conservative who merely didn't know it yet. As a hard-working woman who believed in performance-based pay, she was a libertarian at her core who just couldn't logically connect the dots. She was however, annoying as hell. On the flip side, America has widely and quickly embraced Holly unlike any athlete in recent memory. Humble, articulate, classy and you don't even need to hit the mute button if the kids are in the room. Also, she doesn't balloon to the size of an angry feminist between fights.

In short, she's everything Ronda isn't.

Now, Ronda will still be the bigger name, because fiery, burning wrecks are more entertaining than parallel park-jobs. But if Holly keeps it up, don't expect things to stay that way.

Really, this is just an excuse to write about Holly Holm, who, here at LwC, we absolutely love. So, just deal with it okay?
