Farmers are protesting in the UK because the government believes they are entitled to the hard work of generational farmers for reasons that will never make sense.

According to the BBC:

Thousands of people have protested in London over changes to inheritance tax for farmers announced in the Budget.

From April 2026, inherited agricultural assets worth more than £1m, which were previously exempt, will be liable to the tax at 20% - half the usual inheritance tax rate.

Can anyone name one time in history when utilizing farmers did not end in mass misery? No? Didn’t think so.

Other allowances could mean a couple who are married or in a civil partnership could pass on a farm worth as much as £3m.

However, many farmers argue that while they are asset rich - for example in terms of their land and livestock - they are cash poor and the changes would mean they would have to sell up to be able to pay the tax.

An inheritance tax is 100 percent immoral; there is no other way to put it.

Firstly, people are already taxed on these things, and the government already has its “fair share”. So not only do these officials think they can reach into your pocket and take as they please, but because some “assets” were left over after death, the government wants to help themselves to that as well. That is the logic behind it and it’s evil.

But this is what communists do. They villainize a group while helping themselves to others' wealth or the fruits of their labor while failing to acknowledge the repercussions of such tyrannical policies.

All this will do is break up farms and force people to sell off the remaining family business while emboldening the wealthiest corporations to profit off the inevitable monopolies to come.

This tax does one thing and one thing only; it prevents families from passing along farms to the next generation and that’s wrong.
