New UN Report Calls For Decriminalization of Sex Between Minors And Adults, Claims It Can Be 'Consensual'
Remember that totally crazy, lunatic conspiracy theory that the government is being run by pedophiles and pedophile sympathizers? Yeah. Crazy stuff.
Anyway, the United Nations wants to decriminalize sex between children and adults. Oh and all drug use. What could possibly go wrong?
\u201cThe UN, WEF, WHO, International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF, and other allied groups work together... \n\n"UN report calls for decriminalization of all sexual activity, including between adults and children"\n https://t.co/6m09ZryE2u\u201d— Kelly S. (@Kelly S.) 1681585647
The report was written by the International Committee of Jurists (ICJ), UNAIDS and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and released on International Women's Day. The goal of the report, apparently, was to guide “the application of international human rights law to criminal law.” According to the authors, criminalizing anything related to “sex, drug use, HIV, sexual and reproductive health, homelessness and poverty” is a violation of human rights.
I can see how *some* laws in *some* of those categories could potentially be human rights violations. But then the report literally calls for children to be able to consent to sex with adults.
"With respect to the enforcement of criminal law, any prescribed minimum age of consent to sex must be applied in a non-discriminatory manner. Enforcement may not be linked to the sex/gender of participants or age of consent to marriage. Moreover, sexual conduct involving persons below the domestically prescribed minimum age of consent to sex may be consensual, in fact, if not in law. In this context, the enforcement of criminal law should reflect the rights and capacity of persons under 18 years of age to make decisions about engaging in consensual sexual conduct and their right to be heard in matters concerning them.
Pursuant to their evolving capacities and progressive autonomy, persons under 18 years of age should participate in decisions affecting them, with due regard to their age, maturity and best interests, and with specific attention to non-discrimination guarantees."
Ahem: no.
Children cannot consent to sex. That's it. No more.
