UNBELIEVABLE: #SJW Professor Tries to Excuse ACTUAL Rape Culture of ISIS
When the left perceives "rape culture" in America, whether it be a fake rape at UVA or fathers calling their daughters "princesses," it's all feminist hands on deck. When there's real rape culture in the Muslim community like ISIS...well, the leftists have to explain why, because it's complicated. Also, the USA might be to blame. Also, hands off her uterus!
Exhibit A: Boston University Professor Kecia Ali, Ph.D., who wrote "The Truth About Islam and Sex Slavery History Is More Complicated Than You Think" over at the enlightened Huffington Post. The title itself tells you everything you need to know: Dr. Ali is trying to explain why ISIS think's it's okay to rape women. And why you should understand. And how understanding is the path to knowledge. Also, the USA might be to blame, because Bush and invading Iraq. And hands off her uterus!
In focusing on current abuses in the Middle East, perpetrated by those claiming the mantle of Islam, Americans — whose Constitution continues to permit enslavement as punishment for crime — deflect attention from partial U.S. responsibility for the current crisis in Iraq. Sanctions followed by military invasion and its brutal aftermath laid the groundwork for the situation Callimachi describes. Moral high ground is in short supply. The core idea animating enslavement is that some lives matter more than others. As any American who has been paying attention knows, this idea has not perished from the earth.
See, women raped and enslaved by ISIS (who Dr. Ali notes are "claiming the mantel of Islam," for as we all know, Islam is the religion of peace) have the USA to blame a little bit. Because Bush invaded Iraq. And the idea that "some lives matter more than others," is ongoing in the USA. She's probably not talking about Planned Parenthood chopping up babies and selling them under the mantel of "choice," since that's all about female empowerment, or something. Shut up, you hate uteruses, remember? No, she's probably talking about the racist movement #BlackLivesMatter, who's star activist is actually a liar liar white caucasian pants on fire. Details.
Also, this woman who's writing extensively and in characteristically lofty, academic language to impress you with her knowledge and understanding? She's teaching students. Students who will one day vote. Or run for political office. They probably won't get jobs, because skills are required for that, but they might become damn fine community organizers.
Just shut up. Because the USA is to blame. And for the love of God and all that is holy... hands off her uterus!
