Well if you or a high schooler you know is thinking about colleges to attend, may we suggest he, she or zenot consider attending Washingtion State University, lest he, she, or ze come out of the institution completely crazy, rocking themselves in a corner because of shameful whiteness and/or patriarchy.

It used to be the accuracy of your exam, or a proof of acquired knowledge that was a barometer for grading, now it's how sensetive you are. Yes, you will be graded on the words you use... because free speech is so passé.

Much like in Selena Breikss’s classroom, students taking Professor Rebecca Fowler’s “Introduction to Comparative Ethnic Studies” course will see their grades suffer if they use the term “illegal alien” in their assigned writing.

If you think colleges are bastions of free speech, you're a moron. Sorry, hope that didn't offend you too much. Give us an F if it did. But hey, Professor Fowler at least offers alternatives to what she deems foul language:

According to her syllabus, students will lose one point every time they use the words “illegal alien” or “illegals” rather than the preferred terms of “‘undocumented’ migrants/immigrants/persons.” Throughout the course, Fowler says, students will “come to recognize how white privilege functions in everyday social structures and institutions.”

“The socio-legal production of migrant illegality works to systematically dehumanize and exploit these brown bodies for their labor,” Fowler continued.

There it is! WHITE PRIVILEGE. How can you come into your class all white and use terms like "illegal alien"? Even though people entering this country illegally are illegal aliens. Still, those criminals have mothers too, you bastard! Where's your humanity? So what if the term "illegal alien" only offends people who are here illegally. It's the feelings that matter, not the facts.

Question for Professor Fowler: who exactly is encouraging these "brown bodies" to flood across the borders to "exploit" them for "their labor"? I'm just spitballing here, but wouldn't it be better if these people assimilated into the culture, learned the language, and got, like, careers? Forgive me, my white privilege showing...

If Fowler's Introduction to Comparative Ethnic Studies (BTW, for what career does that prepare anyone? Just asking...) doesn't tickle your white privilege fancy, try Professor Streamas's course:

White students in Professor John Streamas’s “Introduction to Multicultural Literature” class, are expected to “defer” to non-white students, among other community guidelines, if they want “to do well in this class.”

Right, so you white students need to defer to non-white students, because equality. Those other students are no different than you, only that they need you to back down. You're so racist. Let the "brown body" person speak!

Question for Professor Streamas: Are you familiar, sir, with the soft bigotry of low expectations? Call it a hunch, but it kind of sounds like you think the non-white students are wimps and cannot succeed unless white people step aside and allow them to speak. Which kind of sounds racist. But maybe that's just my white privilege showing...

Several other WSU professors require their students to “acknowledge that racism, classism, sexism, heterosexism, and other institutionalized forms of oppression exist” or that “we do not live in a post-racial world.”

No word if WSU will change their "Cougar" mascot to something less sexist.

Yay college! To recap, liberals see colleges as:

1. bastions of rape culture
2. places where you can be free of the oppressive "free speech" (see all of the above)
3. Places where a few students try to ban a patriotic movie
4. and you can come out of college with a crap ton of debt and not get a job!
