Susan Collins is a real moderate's moderate. She's the Republican that Democrats count on to block Republican legislation. Many were hoping Collins would give them a vote against Brett Kavanaugh (see The Ultimate Timeline on the Brett Kavanaugh Accusation Circus and Hillary Clinton: Brett Kavanaugh Will Take America Back to the 1850s). So they lobbied her. By threatening her and her staff.

Collins talked about it on a recent radio show.

“My office has received some pretty ugly voicemails, threats, terrible things said to my staff,” Collins said in an interview with WVOM on Wednesday.

“This has been a very ugly process and I think that’s very unfortunate for everyone involved,” Collins added.

Collins said in the interview that Kavanaugh “has received some threats and goodness knows” as the battle over his nomination kicks into high gear. But she also weighed in on reports stating that Ford had been forced out of her home due to death threats after her newly disclosed allegations against the Supreme Court nominee were made public.

Funny, you don't hear about threats when they're made against Republicans or conservatives. Because much like racism and sexism - and alleged sexual assault - liberals only care about treats when they can score political points.

Maybe that's why there's still little attention paid to Keith Ellison's case. Keith Ellison, who is second in command at the DNC, was accused of sexual misconduct. Oh you haven't heard about it? Keith Ellison's Accuser: I've Been Smeared By My Own Party.

I've no doubt everyone from Kavanaugh to Collins, Ford, and Katz down to everyone who surrounds these people, have received threats. Based on the kind of hate mail we get when we just write an OpEd people don't like. Lot's of sick weirdos on the net. Just saying.

Firstly, stop it. Death threats aren't the way to go, ever. I don't care what side of the aisle on which you sit and where you aim your threats. Knock it off.

Secondly, if the media "cares" about death threats, lobbed at their side of not, maybe they could tone down their rhetoric of everything being doom and gloom. We can't stop all crazy people from being two clicks away from a single-celled organism prepared to strap itself with C4. But maybe media could stop making every single government decision a life and death issue. As a start.
