Leaked Emails Busts Teachers Union Launching Attack at Charter School: 'Less Students Equal Less Money'
Public schools are garbage, and one reason among the many why this is so is because of the teachers' unions. It's also because public schools have decided to completely disregard parents as they force leftist indoctrination on the students, but the teachers' unions help make this possible because they protect teachers with the hundreds of millions of dollars the government hands them each year.
And speaking of teachers' unions and money, a teachers' union in Colorado is starting to worry that they're going to be missing out on some cash if a charter school is allowed to open in the area (h/t RedState). In fact, that seems to be the only reason they're worried the charter school might open--not because the students might somehow be negatively affected (as if anything could be more deleterious than a public school education these days) but the affect the institution would have on the union's bottom line.
Corey DeAngelis, the national director of research for School Choice Now, obtained an email disseminated to members of the union in which the union leader states, "Please note that if Ascent gets approved, it is anticipated to cause a further decrease in enrollment across our district. For those of you who don’t know less students equals less $, please think about signing up to speak at the forum and providing your thoughts on whether we need another charter in our small town. Thanks."
The document shows the teachers union leader used their district email to contact staff on May 23rd
They urged staff to "please think about signing up to speak" about "whether we need another charter in our small town"

It's nice to know where the unions place their priorities.
Now, this Colorado union isn't the only one freaking out about a drop in admission and the fiscal fallout that can be predicted to follow. Seattle schools have also begged families to enroll their children in the public system after experiencing a drop in the number of students.
I couldn't be happier, though. Nothing puts a smile on my face quite like imagining a world without public schools, where teachers are forced to actually work instead of spending their days brainwashing impressionable students. And that's what they get for being terrible at their jobs.
