In 2019, Harvard withdrew Kyle Kashuv's acceptance when people dug up offensive text message from when he was a preteen.
In 2021, MIT dismissed a pastor after saying something factual about George Floyd.
In 2021, PENN threatened students if they spoke out about Will Thomas deciding he was Lia Thomas now.
All of these schools have codes of conduct where they control speech if that speech is being used "against" certain groups of people. The people in the top ten of the Left's pound-for-pound most marginalized rankings. Okay? Okay.
Another thing all of these schools have in common, along with many other universities and progressive cities in America, is rampant antisemitism since the October 7th terrorist attack Hamas committed against Israel. The attack that a day after, Harvard students were simping for Hamas.
The presidents of these universities were called before a congressional hearing to address the rampant antisemitism on college campuses as of late. The question: Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate [your university’s] code of conduct or rules regarding bullying or harassment?
The answers? It depends, kinda maybe, something something context. Watch for yourself.
The schools would only take action if the "speech" leads to "conduct." So at, say Harvard, you can call for a genocide of Jews just as long as you don't ackshually harm anyone. Physically harm anyone. You can say Jews need to be genocided, but genociding them yourself is a bridge too far. That is what these elite university presidents are saying.
It also depends on how you define genocide. You can get expelled if you call someone by the wrong pronoun, because you are causing "harm" and engaged in a "trans genocide." Which isn't genocide as much as a left-wing catchphrase. Not unlike the "paper genocide" of not allowing porn in school libraries. But as these elite university presidents said under oath, context is king here.
The context of causing Jewish students to be afraid to leave their dorm rooms or even attempt to go to campus out of fears of having future congressional Democrat staffers screaming "intifada" and "from the river to the sea" in their faces falls under "free speech" according to elite universities that don't believe in free speech in almost any other circumstance.
This is where we're at now.
