The world continues to spiral down into the seemingly bottomless pit of insanity, as Bristol University issues official guidelines for staff in the correct use of pronouns for those who identify as “catgender,” reports the Daily Mail.

Like Richard Littejohn at the Daily Mail, I’m not sure how many people at the college identify as cats, but it must be enough to force it to make guidelines, and they recommend that these people be referred to by “nye/nyan” pronouns. Why? “Apparently, nyan is Japanese for ‘meow.’”

The guideline issued by the university describes someone who identifies as “catgender” as, “someone who strongly identifies with cats and may experience delusions relating to being a cat or other feline.” They admit to recognizing a delusion. How is this not insanity?

If universities are really doing to be this stupid, I don’t think they serve any legitimate purpose anymore.

“If you take this policy to its logical conclusion, students should be able to define as whatever species they choose, complete with their own pronouns. At this rate, Bristol University could soon resemble Noah’s Ark. They’ll be ripping out the urinals alongside the litter trays in the non-binary toilets and replacing them with lamp-posts for the convenience of students who define as dogs.”

Yup, this is where we’re heading. But this stuff, while perhaps new to this particular institution, is, in general, nothing new. In fact, identifying as an animal probably isn’t as ridiculous as identifying as a “demon” or a “nightmare.” And questioning any of this idiocy will make these poor unhinged people short-circuit.
