Video Shows Deputy Standing Outside During Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting
I'm running out of ways to say the Stoneman Douglas High School SRO makes me stabby. We've all heard about disgraced deputy Scot Peterson. The guy who stood outside while 17 kids were murdered. Yeah, people aren't too happy with this assclown (see Student Blasts Resource Officer Who Cowered During Parkland Shooting and Hero Student Files Lawsuit Against Broward County Sheriff’s Office). You would think we'd stop hearing reasons to hate this guy. Maybe we have.
Because now we're SEEING reasons to hate this guy.
Chilling surveillance video released Thursday of the deadly attack at a Florida high school shows the actions of a disgraced security resource officer who stayed outside as 17 people were slaughtered inside. The footage shows Scot Peterson taking up positions at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, at times running and talking on his radio.
Peterson can be seen with an unidentified school worker walking toward a room at 2:22 p.m. — less than a minute after the first shots were fired, allegedly by Nikolas Cruz, 19.
Less than a minute later, three people — Peterson and two others — are seen on a golf cart driving through campus.
It's nothing we haven't read about already.
Yet seeing it kinda makes me want to take a sledgehammer to a car.
Let's run through the facts real quick:
- Law enforcement was warned the shooter was a threat. Did nothing.
- FBI was tipped off the shooter was a credible threat. Did nothing.
- Shooter goes to school. Shoots kids. On campus officer: did nothing (see above).
- Liberals blame the NRA.
Reminder: a good guy with a gun can often stop a bad guy with a gun. But let's define "good guy" shall we? A good guy with a gun doesn't hang back wetting himself as kids are being shot. That's a "guy" sure, but not a "good guy with a gun." More like a "kinda cowardly if we're being honest" guy with a gun.
Still not the NRA's fault.
