Woman Pretends To Be Waffle House Employee, No One Noticed For Hours Until She Started Stealing
In America, you are entitled to the fruits of your labor. When you work, you are owed a wage. That is not a controversial thing. But for one woman working at a Riverdale Waffle House - let's just say she was paid in not the most conventional way. She was acting a bit un-waffle-ly and got caught up in a sticky situation.
"Riverdale police are looking for a woman who they say pretended to be a Waffle House employee and got away with cash.
The sneaky theft happened at a Waffle House location off the 6500 block of Highway 85 on Dec. 12.
Investigators say the woman worked two hours at the restaurant before opening the cash register and stealing an undetermined amount of money."
The woman was even wearing the trademark hat of the restaurant chain.
"She proceeded to work 2 hours before being captured on CCTV accessing the register tablet, opening the register, and stealing cash," police said.
I am the last person to condone crime. But technically, she did work for that money, didn't she? Police are still wondering who the waffle bandit is, but she must have at least earned $30 bucks out of that shift. Most people pay with credit anyway. How much cash was really in that register?
All jokes aside, how did no one notice that some random person was just hanging out behind the counter like that? Maybe it was just the Sunday morning rush and everyone was way too busy to care, but you would think management would have at least noticed something strange. Is the turnover rate that high? Do people not know who their coworkers are?
This woman really thought: "Where there’s a waffle, there’s a way."
The sad reality of all of this is how dedicated and hard-working some criminals have become. Although she is a syrup-itious liar, her dedication is a sign that she might have been the most egg-cellent employee that waffle house has seen for a very, very long time. Let's just say, she may have been in a batter mood than the actual employees.
A lot of strange things have been going on at waffle houses in Georgia lately.
According to The Messenger News"
"A Georgia man was arrested after he allegedly stole a city bus with a passenger aboard before dropping the passenger off at a Waffle House and taking off with the bus."
At least the man who stole the bus was arrested. Police are still asking the public for help in finding this woman.
Anyway, next time you see the new employee at work, at least introduce yourself. Not only is it rude to ignore the new kid, but you might just end up avoiding what happened at the waffle house.
