Stupidity and Walmart go hand in hand. Anyone familiar with "The People of Walmart" knows this is not a new thing. This fresh gun policy of theirs, however, is a new thing. Though not without its fair share of stupid.

The anti-gun zealots have our beloved shop in their twisted clutches. Sad news for Walmartians:

Walmart said Wednesday it won’t sell guns and ammunition to customers who are under 21 years old, following a similar move by Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Retailers and gun manufacturers are facing calls from gun-control advocates to impose new limits after a gunman killed 17 people in a Parkland, Florida, high school.

The company said it has a process to ensure that its policies are applied to its e-commerce marketplace, where third parties can sell their products. Walmart is removing items that resemble AR-15 rifles, including nonlethal airsoft guns and toys.

Here comes their explanation. Bonus points to anyone who guessed it would be sad and pathetic.

“We take seriously our obligation to be a responsible seller of firearms and go beyond federal law by requiring customers to pass a background check before purchasing any firearm,” Walmart said. “Our heritage as a company has always been in serving sportsmen and hunters, and we will continue to do so in a responsible way.”

Selling AR-15s and selling to people over the age of 18 has no bearing on one's responsibility as a firearms dealer. But okay.

These are the rotten fruits of the leftist rage mob (see Leftists Demand Boycott of the NRA. Here's the Businesses Who Caved.). They make demands and force all in their path to adhere to their idiocy. It begins with bullying major corporations and ends with the left barging into the homes of every Average Joe and demanding he give up his guns. For safety purposes, of course.

Walmart isn't doing anything special by hopping onto this anti-gun bandwagon, they're just further maligning potential gun buyers.
