This story has a lot going on. A poor child was brought into a Walmart by his mother and was dressed in only a diaper and what looked like a trash bag. He had no socks or shoes on either. It was extremely cold and the poor kid can be seen shivering with his teeth clenching in the video. It is incredibly sad, heartbreaking, and difficult to watch.

According to The Daily Mail:

“Shocked shoppers confronted a mother who brought her toddler son to Walmart wearing nothing but a diaper in freezing weather.

The little boy was shivering as he sat in the shopping trolley in the store in Jackson, Mississippi, on Wednesday during last week's winter storm.

Temperatures plunged to 37F that day, yet the child wasn't given proper clothes for the shopping trip.

The young woman said it was 20F or colder when the mother and child came in, and the boy was only wearing a diaper with no shirt, socks, or shoes.”

It is unclear if he was brought in with the trash bag or if it was placed on him after the fact.

People were telling her how cruel she was being towards the innocent child whom she chose to make miserable. And the worst part is that she was fully clothed. She was perfectly warm but her child was left to fend for himself.

It also did not seem that he was capable of speaking up.

The mother's response to concerned shoppers was to twerk in their faces. That is what she thought was the best and most logical thing to do for her suffering child at that moment. That is how much she cares for her child.

It is incredibly heartbreaking to see the child so defenseless like that and be very obviously miserable.

"'What's wrong with you?' an older man asked the mother repeatedly as she grabbed shopping for shelves and tossing them in the trolley next to her son.

She turned around and told the man to lower his voice, then pushed her trolley away and twerked her bottom mockingly at Felicia's camera.

Felicia and other shoppers said someone should call the cops, but the mother appeared to say police had already been called on her twice before."

It is not surprising that the cops have been called twice already and the kid is not even more than several years old. Most parents go their entire lives without that happening. And sadly, it would not be shocking if it happened again.

Another concerned shopper decided she could not just sit back and let the kid suffer. So she pulled up with her mobility scooter to perform the most basic duties that the mother could not be bothered to do.

It is good to see that so many bystanders could not stand by and just watch as an innocent child was being neglected by his own mother.

The employee who posted the video was subsequently fired and she has created a GoFundMe.

"I lost my job on 1/20/2024 by helping a child who were being neglected by his own mother. On 1/17/2024 a young lady came in Wal-Mart with her child & the child only had on a Diaper!!!! And it’s like 20 something degrees or it was in the teens I really cant remember, But the child had on no clothes, no socks, nor shoes, and I took it upon myself to record it for the child sake. No I wasn’t thinking about the consequences at the time, At that time my main focus was on that innocent poor child ,and to get him some help," she wrote on the fundraising page.

Her goal was to raise $5,000 and she is just over $4,000 at the moment. So it looks like she will meet that goal and her bills will be paid.

Felicia claims the mother got arrested and the grandmother has the child for the time being.

Let's just hope the mother gets a major wake-up call and never lets something like this happen to the poor child again.
