Don't let Monday morning's news fool you. The Oscars weren't all slap fights and shenanigans. There were plenty of ignorant political comments, too! It wouldn't be an award show without it. Most notable came from co-host Wanda Sykes. She felt the opening monologue was the perfect time to attack the state of Florida, Florida parents who support the Parental Rights in Education Bill, and the bill itself. Yes, the infamous "Don't Say Gay" bill that doesn't say gay, or say not to say gay. I'm sure you see where this is going.

"Attack" may be too strong of a word. This was a brilliantly crafted joke, totally original, that appeals to a vast majority of people watching at home.

"And for you people in Florida, we’re going to have a gay night. Gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay.”

Do you GET IT?! It's making fun of you Florida rubes. The ones who support a bill that just outlawed teachers from saying the word gay. And by saying the word "gay" repeatedly, that's going to upset you. Because that was what the bill was totally about. Not saying gay. And she just owned you by saying "gay" over and over. Do you feel owned now? Because you're owned! Boy, do I bet the entire state of Florida feels sheepish!

You can't say it any better than Team DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw.

At some point, the left has to take the "L" over this. They tried lying about the bill. It didn't work. The vast majority of Americans support the bill once they see what it ACTUALLY says, including a majority of Florida DEMOCRATS. As it turns out, a law preventing teachers' union thugs from promoting sex and gender to kids in 3rd grade and under is popular. Parents don't think it is appropriate for adults to push sex on five-year-olds. If a governor has the courage to stand up and say that he too thinks it's inappropriate, parents support that governor.

The only people who think pushing sex and gender on children is appropriate are leftist activists who view schools as indoctrination camps and celebrities. Florida is just fine. I'm sure most Floridians had something better to do last night, as well.
