In the name of diversity and equity, a blue state will no longer require lawyers to take the bar exam

You can break down anything into whatever identity group you want. For example, you can claim that left-handed people get into more car accidents than right-handed people. That may or may not be true but just go with it for this theoretical reason. Subsequently, someone may claim that cars negatively impact left-handed people and therefore, that is discriminatory. It does not matter how you break down people, the point is that you can analyze any situation, and no matter what, some “group” or “identity” will always be affected when comparing them to other “groups.”
That has been true since the beginning of time. Now, because Progressives have to look at everything through the lens of skin color, the State of Washington has just labeled the Bar Exam “racist” because the state supreme court believes that this test was too difficult for minorities to pass. That is what they said. And in the name of diversity, prospective lawyers will no longer need to prove themselves with this test before becoming a lawyer.
According to The Daily Caller:
The Washington State Supreme Court officially abolished the traditional bar exam requirement for aspiring lawyers Friday due to its perceived negative impact on minorities.
The Supreme Court has announced that the bar exam is no longer a requirement for those who aspire to be practicing lawyers. The Bar Licensure Task Force claims that the exam is only minimally effective in measuring competency and noted its unfair barrier to marginalized communities aspiring to practice law, according to the Washington Administrative Office of the Courts. The Task Force on Bar Licensure found that the usual bar exam unfairly stops people from underrepresented groups from entering the legal profession. The exam is not good at measuring if someone is qualified.
In other words, the Bar Licensure Task Force in Washington believes that minorities are not as smart as their white classmates and therefore, are not as likely to pass the bar. That is their logic and it’s abhorrent, racist, and a lie.
Washington has followed Oregon in getting rid of the bar exam requirement, making it the second state to do so after Oregon. Other states like Minnesota, Nevada, South Dakota, and Utah are looking into different ways to license lawyers, the Spokesman-Review reported.
“These recommendations come from a diverse body of lawyers in private and public practice, academics, and researchers who contributed immense insight, counterpoints and research to get us where we are today,” Washington Supreme Court Justice Raquel Montoya-Lewis, who chaired the task force, said in a statement, according to the Spokesman-Review. “With these alternative pathways, we recognize that there are multiple ways to ensure a competent, licensed body of new attorneys who are so desperately needed around the state.”
What about short people? Are they also disproportionately affected? Why can't we label people into groups based on height rather than race? Because height has a far more significant impact on someone's life than the color of their skin.
To think that race matters in how well you do on a test is the most racist thing I have heard in a while. But that is exactly what we have here. And it's asinine to condone such a false statement.
