Jeff Bezos Owned WaPo Attacks Elon Musk, Declares We Must 'Prevent Rich People' From Owning Media
Elon Musk wants to buy Twitter because he believes in free speech and believes Twitter isn't living up to standards that qualify as "free" speech. That was Thursday's news. Friday's news is corporate media all of a sudden deciding that a "billionaire" owning a "communication platform" is the worst thing to happen to democracy. Not the billionaires who own the platforms THEY work for, who have political opinions they agree with. Only Elon Musk. The fate of the free world depends on Twitter being able to moderate content they don't like. What corporate media deems "misinformation." The worst hypocrites are The Washington Post.
I won't give them the traffic. This sentence was highlighted by another first amendment aficionado (as well as boobs) Clay Travis.
The Washington Post, a paper owned by Amazon billionaire @JeffBezos, thinks it’s important to keep rich people like @elonmusk from controlling communication. Democracy dies in hypocrisy, y’all. pic.twitter.com/QojLbq5M6N

"Musk's appointment to Twitter's board shows we need regulation of social media platforms to prevent rich people from controlling our channels of communication. For starters, we need consistent definitions of harassment and of content that violates personal privacy."
This is the same Washington Post that used a leaked list of Freedom Convoy donors--leaked on Twitter and NOT taken down by Twitter's content police--and harassed them for donating to a cause with which WaPo disagreed. So...
And this idiocy is being published by the Washington Post, a media platform owned by Jeff Bezos

Because at the end of the day...
FYI: @JeffBezos' purchase of the @washingtonpost and @elonmusk's move to buy @Twitter are completely different. They are NOTHING alike.
See, I like billionaire Jeff Bezos. Therefore his purchase is good. 😍
I don't like billionaire Elon Musk, so his purchase is bad. 😡

We heard this all day yesterday and now today: "If Elon Musk buys Twitter it would be a massive blow to democracy and social movements." "Elon Musk's attempted takeover of Twitter is a threat to the free world." "For democracy to survive, we need more content moderation." Moderating opinions that corporate media doesn't like is such a necessity for democracy's survival, we're leaving it in the hands of random, unaccountable Big Tech employees. Make that one make sense.
It's amazing these corporate media outlets have such disdain for the people. They act like we don't see what they're doing. Or that if they deny it hard enough, we'll believe them. If the reaction to Elon Musk's attempt to buy Twitter has shown anything, it's the importance of WHY we need someone like Elon Musk to own Twitter.
