WATCH: Dan Crenshaw Spells Out the Border Crisis on 'SHOWTIME's The Circus'
One of our best advocates for addressing the border crisis has been Representative Dan Crenshaw (see WATCH: Dan Crenshaw Addresses Problems of Sex Trafficking Due to Illegal Immigration and Dan Crenshaw Goes on Ride-Along With Border Patrol Agents). To be fair, Crenshaw has been our best advocate on all the issues. Every time he drops a video, it's like if Christmas fell on all you can eat Taco Tuesday. Crenshaw's appearance on SHOWTIME's The Circus will appeal to a lot more people than just political diehards.
Convincing your side on policy is easy. It's your side. When you can convince the apolitical people in the middle that you're right, that's a victory. On border issues, I think Democrats have been better addressing the middle. While many of the right's arguments have been a little too Trumpy. The left has been appealing to people's emotions. The right has been appealing to conservative media. Feel free to disagree with me in the comments.
Then here comes Dan Crenshaw, who is UNAPOLOGETICALLY conservative and pro-border security. But his demeanor comes across as a centrist, and he makes an emotional appeal, which draws more people to our side. Now the average viewer can watch and say, "Here's a guy who has actually been on the border. Versus, say, someone from New York who has probably never been to Texas. Let alone the border."
If it were me, and our elected officials are debating anything anywhere, I'd be okay if they yielded their time to the gentleman from Texas.
