Afghanistan officials said 36 Islamic State militants were killed when the U.S. dropped the “mother of all bombs” on a tunnel complex Thursday.

The Afghanistan Ministry of Defense added in a statement Friday that there were no civilian casualties and that several Islamic State caves and ammunition caches were destroyed.

K, I'm going to interrupt right here. This is a plus one for America, zero for ISIS. That's the kind of math I enjoy, friends.

The GBU-43B, a 21,000-pound conventional bomb, was deployed in Nangarhar Province close to the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. The MOAB -- Massive Ordnance Air Blast -- is also known as the “Mother Of All Bombs.” It was first tested in 2003, but hadn't been used in combat before Thursday.

President Trump told media Thursday afternoon that "this was another successful mission" and he gave the military total authorization.

You may find yourself thinking, "But #LwC! Dropping the MOAB just to only kill 36 people?" See, there's a tiny detail lost in the breathless coverage about how Trump is going to get us all killed...

The purpose of dropping the bomb was strategic, planned out, and not just meant to kill ISIS, but to cripple their efforts in their war against us (and everyone else they're trying to behead, burn, or otherwise kill). This isn't hard to understand if you're more interested in long term goals (like defeating ISIS) and less concerned with whether or not the bomb dropped on ISIS is a symbol of the matriarchy. Also, no, ISIS isn't "marginalized" as some "pro-science" anal plugs have suggested.

The we did kill three dozen Islamists is but a fringe benefit. Allahu Akbar, MOAB! We drop the bombs for the boom.
