WATCH: Trey Gowdy Just DISEMBOWELD FBI Agent Peter Strzok
I recommend snacks for this one. Let the following paragraph be the yellow text scrolling upward into the stary galaxy: Trey Gowdy just grilled FBI Agent Peter Strozk, who, along with his FBI lawyer tootsie girlfriend, texted about how they didn't want Trump to be president, how they desperately wanted Hillary to win, while they were supposed to be investigating Hillary. And while they were investigating Trump for supposed Russian collusion which, heretofore, there's been zero evidence of.
Here's the entire interview for your viewing pleasure. There's a bit of a, albeit humorous, spitting contest between the Democrats and the Republicans. In my opinion, it's good TV. But if you want to get right to Gowdy, start the video, then scrub to the 12:40 mark to skip the mud fight.
Drumroll please:
Transcript from FoxNews:
The contempt threat surfaced after House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., questioned "how many witnesses" Strzok interviewed before an August 2016 text from Strzok to Page stating "we'll stop" then-candidate Trump from becoming president.Strzok said he was not able to answer the question based on instructions from FBI counsel. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., rejected Strzok's claim.
"Mr. Strzok, you are under subpoena and required to answer the question," Goodlatte said.
This started the firefight between the Democrats and Republicans.
But here's the salient point made by Goodlatte:
“To my colleagues on the other side of the aisle, please replace President Trump’s name with your own name in a small sample of things Mr. Strzok has said,” Goodlatte said. “Envision how you would feel if you found out that the chief agent investigating you as a Member of Congress was making these comments: 'F Trump,' 'Trump is a disaster,' 'Just went to a southern Virginia Walmart. I could SMELL the Trump support' – or, perhaps most alarmingly and revealingly, 'We’ll stop it' – referring directly to Mr. Trump’s candidacy for President.”
That's fair. I can imagine the crazy the Democrats would, rightfully so, engage in when they found out the law enforcement agents in charge of investigating them had a clear, strong, and hateful bias against them. If I ever have to be investigated for a crime, I'd want someone who was searching for the truth. Looking for answers. Not someone who already had it out for me, who was blinded by confirmation bias, who thought I was Literally Hitler.
The FBI agents are allowed to have personal political opinions. But the clear hatred of Trump from Strozk and Page, who coincidentally investigated Trump. And Hillary, who, from all appearances, they kind of gave a pass. It's a huge conflict of interest coming from an agency which is supposed to protect Americans. Not to tank a fairly elected president.
Also, Peter Strozk is a douche.
