Milwaukee DA: Whoopsie, Waukesha Suspect Darrell Brooks was Accidentally Released on $1000 Bond
Details are still coming out about Darrell Brooks, the suspect who drove through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He's being charged with a mass casualty event. One question on everyone's mind is why this violent felon was even out of jail. He had been released on bond two days ago, and the bond was only $1000. We have an answer to that: It's because the Milwaukee District Attorney's office f*cked up.
That would be this individual from a prior arrest. (He has a very long criminal record.) #Waukesha https://t.co/6uAcsV97zE pic.twitter.com/mc2JFfbVRP

BREAKING: The Milwaukee Co. District Attorney says Waukesha suspect Darrell Brooks should not have been released on such a low cash bond earlier this month. They are conducting an internal review.#Waukesha #waukeshaChristmasParade pic.twitter.com/GmUNOkwLpg

"The State's bail recommendation in this case was inappropriately low in light of the recent charges and pending charges against Mr. Brooks."
Mr. Brooks was in jail for domestic abuse.
"The bail recommendation in this case is not consistent with the approach of the Milwaukee County district attorney's office."
Funny. Because earlier, what we learned about Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisolm, is that this sounds very consistent with his approach. Chisolm is said to have, quote, "a track record of […] releasing prolific offenders, as well as not filing charges against them."
"The office is currently conducting an internal review of the decision to make the recent bail recommendation in this manner in order to determine the appropriate next steps."
If the narrative being pushed right now is to be believed, that Chisolm committed another crime with a knife and was being chased when he plowed into a parade, he was only free to be there because of the low $1000 bail. The appropriate next step would be for the person responsible to be forced to attend every funeral wearing a sign that says "I'm to blame."
