I don't know about you, but this podcast is now becoming one of my faves. Due to all the extreme based-ness, of course. The host recently completely dismantled feminism and completely caught one of his poor, unsuspecting guests off guard. And it was glorious.

He asked her if she's a feminist and believes in gender equality, and she said yes. He followed it up with, "Ok, so, how do you reconcile belieiving in gender equality, but also holding men to their traditional gender roles of paying for the first date?"

Oof. She wasn't ready for that one. And it was evident in her response: "Feminism is just doing whatever you want to do, and not being bashed by society for that" . Which, if you've observed modern feminists at any of the abortion protests over the past year, honestly sounds about right.

She added, "And obviously like, standing up for like, women's rights and stuff." Oh yeah, that too. The women part.

The host pressed again, asking, "If you believe in gender equality, don't you think you aught to split the bill on the first date?"

She replied "No because, my main concern with gender equality is through, like yes in society, like fixing that and through like the system, but yeah, I don't - Oh my god..."

So yeah, she was pretty stumped. Because of course, this argument doesn't make any sense. It seems that modern feminists still want all the perks of traditionalism and chivalry, but also want to be able to "do whatever they want to do." I don't know what exactly this chick means by that, and I don't want to put words in her mouth. But broadly speaking, doing whatever you want as a third wave feminist likely involves some combination of hook-ups, multiple sexual partners, and, unfortunately, some abortions.

And it just don't work like that, ladies. We can have gender roles, or we can get rid of all of them. I personally support the former.
