When leftists lie about their "common sense gun reforms," what they really want is to make sure that grandmothers like this 65 year old are unable to protect themselves...

Manchester Police arrested a would-be robber who was shot Jan 4 outside an apartment building on South Porter Street. Police say Michael Bontaites was shot by his intended victim, a 65-year-old woman, who told Bontaites followed her home from a local gas station where she stopped briefly after work.

The woman, who is described as 4-foot-11 inches tall and 105 pounds, was in fear for her safety, police said, so she drew her concealed handgun and shot Bontaites in the upper chest. 

The woman, who has a valid concealed carry gun permit, fired one round to stop the attack before seeking a safe zone inside of the building. Bontaites, who is 5-foot-11 and  200 pounds, fell to the ground as she ran into the secured building and contacted the Manchester Police Department through the emergency 911 phone line.

The 65-year-old woman who was Bontaites’ alleged intended victim, told police she had stopped at Mobil on the Run, 1050 South Willow St., around 11:30 p.m. after leaving work. She got back on South Willow Street and stopped at a traffic light when she noticed a dark-colored sedan behind her. She told police she had “heightened concern” as the vehicle followed her into her apartment complex parking lot...

Because thousands of good people with guns save lives every year. So it's hard to catch them all. However, this is actually pretty typical of many American gun owners. Let me walk you through it.

Legally owned firearm? Check.

Legally valid concealed carry permit? Check.

Vigilant of her surroundings? Check.

Took appropriate measure to notify police immediately following the altercation? Check.

Not exactly the stereotype the media would have you believe.

Yes, that gif is disturbing. I make no apologies. Now, I'd like you to do an exercise for me. Take that check-list (the one above the creepy tranny gif), and cross-reference it with violent criminals. How many of those items do you think you could check off for, say, this lady's assailant? You know, the one who wanted to violently rob her?

... and that's exactly why the Second Amendment is so important. There is no other tool on earth that could so effectively afford a 4'11, 65-year-old granny the opportunity to save her life from a violent attacker. Only a firearm. That tool, that incredible invention for all mankind, made that old bird stronger than a young, 200lbs man. Sure, maybe some day that mugger will get his licks in on another innocent, unarmed bystander. But that was not this day. Isn't this just the feel-good story of the year?

Also, though it wasn't included in the report, this lady's pistol (unless it was a revolver), was likely a semi-automatic. Truth be told, revolvers act as semi-automatics (one pull, one bullet) but are just not technically classified as such. These "semi-automatics" are what the Clintons, Barack Obama and yes, even Whoopi Goldberg want to ban (read more about Obama's gun control presser here). Think about that for a second.
