I'll assume most of you missed the Oscars last night. A decision you made as soon as the Oscars announced Amy Schumer as one of the cohosts. It was a good decision. You missed unfunny political jokes about Florida and awards given out to movies you didn't see. However, you also missed Will Smith hopping up on stage and slapping the hell out of Chris Rock on the spot over a joke about Will's wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

This is where Smith got on stage, asked Rock what five fingers said to the face, then went back to his seat yelling, "Keep my wife's name out of your f*cking mouth."

Smith needed to be calmed down by Denzel Washington, Tyler Perry, and his publicist. Shortly after the slap heard around the bird app, Smith won the best actor award. It was a big night for him.

Rock's joke was a reference to the Demi Moore movie GI Jane, where Moore played a Navy SEAL. The rub is Moore shaved her head for a movie role. Jada shaved her head because she was just diagnosed with alopecia, an autoimmune disease causing you to lose your hair. One can understand Smith defending his wife in this regard.

Will and Jada's relationship has been the source of gossip fodder since 2020, when Jada made Will sit on her podcast and listen to her tell him how she cheated on him with another man. While the internet understands Smith slapping Rock, the internet also had jokes.

The thing that stands out most is as hard as Smith went "Big Willie Style" across Chris Rock's face, he didn't drop the comedian. Chris Rock must have one hell of a chin. Either that or the guy who played Mohammed Ali slaps like a biological girl.
