For the past four years, the same people who insisted Biden was more than just a sleeping potato also claimed that inflation was a myth. These are the same people who blamed Trump for the worst crises in American history—and then turned around and called him literally Hitler. And now, they wonder why they have record-low approval ratings and why the American people have never been more distrustful of them.

This is also why it was not hard for Rainn Wilson to call them out on all of that.

According to the New York Post:

Wilson, who played the ambitious Dwight Schrute on the hit show, voiced his complaints to MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle during an interview with her on his “Soul Boom” podcast Tuesday.

He said left-wing outlets like MSNBC were in denial in their coverage of Biden’s faltering mental acuity and issues important to voters like inflation and illegal immigration — but are now overly negative in their coverage of Trump and the White House.

To be fair, it’s not that they were in denial—they single-handedly labeled anyone who questioned his mental competence a conspiracy theorist, all while running damage control for the sleeping potato. However, accountability was never really their thing.

“This is where I would push back: when I see this kind of insight and passion being directed at the current administration and the lack of this kind of insight and passion being directed at the previous administration,” Wilson said.

“I’m not talking about you, I’m talking about left-leaning news media organizations — we're kind of like, ‘La la la la, everything’s fine. Look, the economy is great, la la la, immigration’s not that much of a problem,’ and really being Cleopatra, queen of denial.”

Again, they weren’t in denial—they were intentionally trying to deceive and gaslight the American people to help their side win. The mainstream media cares more about being politically correct than upholding journalistic ethics, even at the expense of being factually incorrect. And to come out and attempt to justify it all by claiming ignorance on issues like record inflation and a senile president is a disingenuous lie that perfectly summarizes why the left lost the election.
