I regret to inform you that yet another Pastor has gone viral for their "Progressive" Christianity. I guess we shouldn't be surprised anymore.

Rev. Dr. Caleb J Lines is the Senior Minister of University Christian Church, a "progressive, welcoming, Open & Affirming community" "that takes the Bible seriously, but not always literally." It's also a self-described "anti-racist organization".

Oh and he thinks God is gay. And trans. Of course.

Lines claims, "God is gay, God is a lesbian, God is trans, God is gender nonbinary, God is straight, God is cisgender, God is black, God is white, God is Middle Eastern, God is Asian, God is differently abled mentally and physically, God is able-bodied."

God is definitely "differently abled mentally and physically," but not in the way Lines means. God's able to destroy cities in fire and flood the entire Earth. Which perhaps this fellow should read more about. But perhaps the most alarming part of that clip is towards the end, when Lines claims, "you are God". No, no you aren't. And neither is he.

Other videos on his TikTok claim the Bible doesn't condemn abortion, since "life begins at first breath," not conception. I guess he missed the whole "Thou shalt not kill" part.

This "God is gay" take is unfortunately not an uncommon one. Our pal Jeffrey Marsh said a similar same thing not too long ago: "If man's created in God's image and woman's created in God's image then God must be trans."

As Marsh noted, the Church of England is considering using nonbinary pronouns for God, referring to Him as "they/them" and beginning the Lord's prayer with "Our Father and Our Mother". Despite Jesus Christ instructing us to call God "Our Father". But Jeffrey Marsh definitely knows better than Jesus Christ. Definitely.
