PLOT TWIST: Man Tries to Beat his Girlfriend. Gets Shot Instead...
If there's one thing you should take away from the story I'm about to unfold, it's that guns are dangerous. If you're in front of the gun when the gun is pointed at you, you're likely going to be shot. Especially if you have a history of domestic violence and it's your girlfriend who has the gun pointed at you. When you try to fight her off... you're going to be dead. Via gun. Science.
From ABC:Police say a woman called to report shots fired inside the home. When police arrived, they say they learned the woman shot the man after some type of domestic violence situation.
According to police, there was a history of domestic violence at the home--something neighbors say they were aware of in the woman's previous relationship.
"Yes, there was. Cops were called several times," said Katrina Martinez, a neighbor.
Its violence children should not have to witness, but police say the woman's adult daughter saw what happened and was able to back her mom's story.
Okay, several things. First and most obvious, this woman for the win. Someone buy her some flowers, because obviously the boyfriend no longer can. Likely he never did. Well, maybe after he beat the crap out of her. I recommend you buy her a vase of flowers (so she can keep them on her dining table) and maybe some daisies so she can place them over her crappy no-longer-boyfriend's grave. Daisies are the only thing he'll be pushing now.
Second thing, she called the cops multiple times. Okay? Multiple times. Guess what? The pissant still came back. So all you people who just say "When I'm in trouble, I don't need a gun, I'll just call the cops..."
This woman said, "Been there, done that." She armed herself. When her jerk-boyfriend came back, she dropped him. He won't hit her anymore, he won't scare her children (related Armed Robbers Raid a Barbershop. Get CUT DOWN by Two Concealed Carry Holders...).
Feminists the country over should applaud this woman for taking the power from her abusive boyfriend and putting it into her own two hands. Yet there weren't any parades or hashtags in her honor. Because self-reliance via a weapon? Not the same as bemoaning the patriarchy and free bleeding a marathon.
It's yet another case of the Second Amendment protecting a woman who couldn't be protected by the state. She protected herself and her children, as she has every right to do (read #YesAllWomen! Young Mom Protects her Baby From Intruders with Gun). We don't know the backstory of how this man met this woman. We only have the ending.
Thanks to a gun, we can hope this woman and her children will live happily ever after.
