Former WWE Ring Card Girl Steps Into the Ring as a GOP US Senate Candidate
Themis Klarides is poised to get the nomination as the Connecticut GOP candidate for U.S. Senate. The internet is starting to notice a different time she showed poise, as a WWE ring card girl in 1993. During Monday Night RAW, the WWE would have bikini babes walking around the ring holding signs about it being time to get RAW. And as luck would have it, for those of us who hustle content for a living, Klarides was featured at the time on WWE programming.

While working as a ring card girl, Klarides was a student at Bridgeport school of law and studying for the bar. This makes her in an elite class of people who said they were "working their away through law school" and meant it. She was also completing her master's in economics.
The internet is having fun with this because, well... we're the internet. But to be fair to Themis Klarides--or actually, REPRESENTATIVE Klarides--she didn't go right from the WWE to the nomination. Rep. Klarides has served in the Connecticut House of Representatives since 1999 and is the current House Minority Leader.
Klarides' past working in professional wrestling also makes her uniquely qualified to run in Connecticut for the US Senate. Working for the WWE in 1993, she had to deal with fake cowboys, fake corrections officers, fake clowns, fake barbers, fake country singers, and a fake voodoo shaman. She'll be running against current Senator Richard Blumenthal, a fake Vietnam veteran.
Also, unlike Doink, Blumenthal is an actual clown. This has become evident after we've seen him square off with Ted "Cubano Loco" Cruz in senate hearings.
The Connecticut Senate race is not considered to be competitive at this time. But with the red supernova coming in November, there are going to be upsets. Senator Klarides could be one of them.
