After the biggest win of his career, Yoel Romero made some SHOCKING statements... *eyeroll*

Seems innocent, right? Just a Cuban-American thanking Jesus in albeit broken english. That didn't stop people from jumping to the wrong conclusions, accusing him of hate-speech against the gays, causing him to have to clarify his comments in a post fight press conference. Immediately on twitter, the social justice warriors were calling for him to be fired.

"I didn't refer to anybody. What I was trying to say, was, 'United States, thank you for giving me the American Dream.' There's no better country than this one because it is blessed by God. It's in the dollars that this country was made by Christian people. That means it's blessed by God."

A rational person could at least, even if they thought at first it was about gay marriage, give him the benefit of the doubt.

Of course, leftists being leftists, who have not idea who Yoel Romero is, claim otherwise. They claimed he had said "gay Jesus"... which he never said. Even if he did, it easily could have been in reference to my overly effeminate lawn-care provider. That man loves his pink iced tea.

See with leftists, a lie is ok if it advances the agenda, especially when you know that your low information liberal base will believe anything you tell them about people they don't like...like Jesus and Christians as a whole.

This is the world in which we now live. An athlete saying something about Jesus after a big win, which they've been doing for decades, is now a trigger to angry, rabid leftists.
