Top 5 Reasons Conservatives Are Obsessed With Chris Pratt
We at LwC have more than made our bromance towards Chris Pratt pretty clear. No homo...though if he wanted to...hey, look at Chris Pratt getting pranked and taking it like a champ!
LANGUAGE WARNING:
We have definitely noticed an uptick in articles on the right about Chris Pratt...though of course written through the usual sensationalist "ZOMG YOU WON'T BELIEVE" lens. Part of it has to do with the legit shock than an openly Christian actor would be allowed to do as well as he has. Part of it is also the desperation for clickbait. Though to be fair, while we haven't seen any actual evidence he was ever told to "keep Jesus off the set" as is being reported by some less than honest sites, if evidence exists, please send it over.
Here's all you need to know about Chris Pratt.
1. He's openly Christian and doesn't have a problem speaking publicly about his relationship with God. Not the typical religious double-speak often heard from Hollywood leftists. He's actually pretty on the nose. Take this quote from when he was discussing the birth of his boy. "We were scared for a long time. We prayed a lot... It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it ...The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect." Take that, Hollywood!
2. He's openly patriotic and pro-America. Click the link to watch the video of Pratt teaching his son the pledge of allegiance on Memorial day. It's touching to watch. Also, awesome.
3. He's openly pro 2nd Amendment. Esquire magazine writes "Pratt talks about his thirty- or forty-gun arsenal. He bought Faris [actress Anna Faris, Pratt's wife] a gun in the event that crazy person comes to their house while he’s in Louisiana and necessitates her 'blowing their f------ brains out.' He tells me to print that, just in case Anna Faris’ and Esquire’s fan demographics overlap." Why this is shocking in Hollywood, I'll never know.
4. He's openly just a really good man. He does a lot of charity, is always a good sport about interviews, and is just generally regarded as being one of the most humble, polite actors in the industry.
5. He openly hates and mocks political correctness. Read his epic, sarcastic pre-apology for saying things he hasn't even said yet that will offend liberals for no good reason. It couldn't be more perfect.
One of the things we like to push at LwC is better engaging the culture, but that doesn't mean that every celebrity who ever says anything we agree with needs to be turned into a political weapon. What makes Chris Pratt so dreamy is that while he agrees with us on a few things, he shows that you can do it that and have a career without labeling yourself a "Christian" or "conservative" actor.
Let's just let Chris Pratt be Chris Pratt. It seems to be working so far. Like, really well.
