Why Chris Rock's Pathetic Oscar Race-Baiting Was an Epic Fail...
I've been covering the #OscarsSoWhite nontroversy since it started and treating it with the appropriate level of mockery it deserves. But what was Chris Rock going to say, in his second year as a mediocre host? Was he going to handle the race issue as tactfully as he didn't in the past?
To be fair, Chris Rock did have some good points. Like pointing out how Hollywood leftists, for all the talking out of their ass they do regarding race... are just that. All talk.
'At some point you get to take a picture with the president. As they're setting up the picture you get a little moment with the president. I'm like, 'Mr. President, you see all these writers producers and actors, they don't hire black people – and they're the nicest white people on Earth. They're liberals!'
Then there was mocking the outrage culture in general...
He then addressed the politically correct nature of Hollywood, poking fun at the current controversy over only asking women on the red carpet to talk about what they are wearing and asking the men more interesting questions. The comedian said that not everyone should be so touchy and sometimes to live and let live.'Not everything is racism. Not everything is sexism. If George Clooney shows up in lime green with a swan coming out of his a–, someone's going to ask, what are you wearing?' said Rock.
So, I had to preface the bad with the good. It seemed, for a brief glimpse, like Chris Rock would finally let his freak-comedy flag fly, and poke some holes in the modern political ideology that is political correctness. After-all, Chris Rock (along with his colleague, Jerry Seinfeld) choose to no longer perform at campuses due to them being "too PC" (read more about that here). That being said, what could Chris Rock possibly have in common with the SJW liberals of third-wave feminism and "Black Lives Matter"? Well, before you get ready to applaud Chris' bravery, as it turns out... a whole lot.
Chris used his platform to go into joke after joke after joke after joke about how "underrepresented" black actors are in Hollywood. He's being praised for his bold statements like
"we want opportunity!""You're damn right Hollywood's racist ... Hollywood is sorority racist. 'We like you Rhonda, but you're not a Kappa."
And the list goes on. He even set the stage for Joe Biden to come out and demand that something be done about "rape culture," which, by the way, is not an actual thing (more on that below). Sidenote: Yes, Joe Biden still works with Hillary Clinton. Basically, the whole ceremony, more than ever before, existed merely as a platform for Hollywood to spew its increasingly out of touch, SJW, leftist agenda. Also, it was horrendously unentertaining.
First, black Americans make up about 12-13% of the population. They make up exactly that same percentage of award nominees at the Oscars. So even though I wasn't exactly crying at the injustice of it to begin with, at the very least, the math can spare us all.
The biggest irony here is that Chris Rock, a comedian, claims to hate political correctness, which is why he won't perform to politically correct audiences on college campuses anymore.
"in their social views and their willingness not to offend anybody. Kids raised on a culture of “We’re not going to keep score in the game because we don’t want anybody to lose.”"...You can’t even be offensive on your way to being inoffensive."
What bothers me about Chris Rock is that right here, he is creating the very PC, #SJW environment he claims to hate on campus. See Chris, you don’t get to categorize everybody by race, gender or orientation as you did at the Oscars in order to consistently play the victim card…
… then turn around and whine when college students categorize everybody by race, gender and orientation to consistently play the victim card. The PC outrage culture was spawned by people like you. You’re now just facing a generation who’s taking it a step further. Let that reverberate for a second. Mizzou was created by you. SJW feminism was created by you. The students protesting Jerry Seinfeld performing on campus? They are your Frankenstein monster. Yet you continue down this path when it's convenient, and attempt to mock it when your minions turn on you.
You deserve for them to eat you alive.
As for that "Rape Culture" Joe Biden was addressing. Yeah, that's not even a thing.
