Carson vs. Obama: Comparing What we Actually Know...
Dr. Ben "The Fighter" Carson has been killing it the past few days. Since his quick rise to the top of many polls, the media has been in Terminator mode, targeting Carson like he'll be the downfall of their Skynet-like influential powers.
A black Conservative? Judgment day.
The media is answering Ben Carson's neural surgeon status with a little proctology, probing deep, searching for anything to use against him. Last night Carson fired back at the hack reporters for their clear and shameful media bias. They're trying to make a scandal out of Carson's West Point scholarship non-issue, when Obama, an unknown specter of Chicago proportions, had clear ties to questionable known terrorists, and an unknown academic record (because it was and still is sealed), the media shrugged their shoulders. Come to think of it, they weren't that questionable. They were terrorists. Take a look at this 2008 segment from Brokaw and Rose. Says it all...
So we thought we'd do a comparison of these two men. One who was elected to the presidency twice by spouting platitudes as the media ignored and/or covered up for his past, and one who is seeking the office, while the media performs a rectal exam.
Early Years and Academics
Ben Carson has admitted to being a punk in school. Born in Detroit and raised by a single mother, Carson lived through what many would call the "black experience." But his mother wouldn't let Ben become a statistic. She forced him to read and not watch TV. When Ben was 14, he made a turnaround which he has credited to his faith and good decisions. He cleaned up his act, got great grades and "had the highest S.A.T. in 20 years Detroit had seen." His stellar academic record is what prompted the West Point's informal "offer" which he didn't accept. Yeah, that's the "controversy." No, really. That's the entire controversy. Ben Carson applied to and was accepted at Yale. The only school to which he applied, by the way.
Barack Obama was raised by his white mother in Hawaii. He moved around, including some time spent in Indonesia. He was accepted to Occidental College after high school. His grades are unknown, his SAT score is unknown but from all relevant accounts, was likely below average. So for most information, we just have to take Obama's word for it. Lucky for us, Obama admits to being a "loafer" who "abused drugs" which isn't exactly how premier students at either Columbia and Harvard describe themselves...
Obama's academic records from Columbia and Harvard are still sealed. The media has not investigated at all, because they don't want to know, and they don't want the rest of us to know. Because you're racist.
Dealing with Racism
One man takes the high road, and one has used racism as a wedge issue. We'll let you spot which is which...
Ben Carson on nurses mistaking him for a hospital orderly when hew was actually the surgeon:
"I wouldn't get angry. I would simply say, 'Well, that's nice, but I'm Dr. Carson."' He continued, "I recognize[d] that the reason they said that was not necessarily because they were racist, but because from their perspective … the only black man they had ever seen on that ward with scrubs on was an orderly, so why should they think anything different?"
Barack Obama on being a young, black man:
"I noticed that there was nobody like me in the Sears, Roebuck Christmas catalog. . . and that Santa was a white man.... I went into the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror with all my senses and limbs seemingly intact, looking as I had always looked, and wondered if something was wrong with me.""I saw that my life in America—the black life, the white life, the sense of abandonment I'd felt as a boy, the frustration and hope I'd witnessed in Chicago—all of it was connected with this small plot of earth an ocean away."
Affiliations
Ah, the power of association.
Ben Carson spent a great deal of time learning medicine, and therefore likely spent the majority of his time with neurosurgeons. Call it a hunch. He also served on the boards of many businesses.
Barack Obama has associated with marxists and terrorists: Frank Marshall Davis a communist poet, Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dorn, David Axelrod and many other "questionable" people. Don't worry. Whenever anyone found out about them, he immediately threw them under the bus.
Career
Ben Carson, though earning his psychology degree at Yale, decided to become a neurosurgeon. In 1977 he earned his medical degree from School of Medicine at the University of Michigan. Then he and his wife moved to Maryland, where Carson became a resident at Johns Hopkins University. By 1982 he was the chief resident in neurosurgery in Johns Hopkins.
Ben Carson is best known for his feats in pediatric neurosurgery, most notably successfully separating conjoined twins.
According to the US News and World Report article, Carson performs 500 operations a year, three times as many as most neurosurgeons, a fact for which he credits his "very, very efficient staff."
Barack Obama was a Chicago community organizer in 1985 two years after graduating from Columbia with a political science degree. He then went to Kenya for a "sense of renewal" and in 1988 attended Harvard Law in 1988. After graduating, he returned to Chicago, where he practiced law as a civil rights lawyer at Miner, Barnhill & Galland.
Between 1992 and 2004, Obama taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School. Reports of whether or not Obama printed the constitution on toilet paper are unverified.

Faith
Ben Carson attributes his youthful turnaround to God. His credits his faith with inspiring him to be a doctor, and credits God and others for his collegiate achievements. He's been outspoken about his faith in God. For this, the media has painted him as stupid. Well, when it comes to neurosurgeons, one does.
"A black, Christian neurosurgeon? He dies."
Barack Obama attended Jeremiah Wright's church for years. From The American Spectator:
In 2008 America elected a president whose pastor for 20 years preached anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, advocated bizarre pseudo-scientific racial ideas, opposed interracial marriage, praised communist dictatorships, denounced black "assimilation," and taught Afrocentric feel-good nonsense to schoolchildren. When Americans discovered the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's views during the 2008 campaign, they rightly wondered if Barack Obama, like his pastor, really believed that HIV/AIDS was created by the American government to kill black people. Even to this day, no one knows for sure whether Obama shares the views of Wright, whom the Chicago Sun-Times once described as Obama's "close confidant."
Reminder, one of these men is being told by the media to figuratively drop his pants and cough. The other was elected president twice.
