Elizabeth Warren Still Reeling from DNA Test Reveal, Possibly Damaging 2020 Chances
For someone claiming to be smarter than the rest of us, Elizabeth Warren performed the dumbest political stunt we may have ever seen. We're speaking of the infamous DNA test reveal (see Elizabeth Warren Releases Her DNA Report. It’s So Embarrassing She Should Hide Under a Rock. and Top 10 Hilarious Reactions to Elizabeth Warren’s DNA Test Results). It was mortifyingly bad, the greatest self-own in the history of electoral politics. A better idea would be nominating Tess Holliday as ambassador to Saudi Arabia. She'd visit wearing nothing but a demur smirk. Her milkshake brings all the burkas to the yard. That's the severity of Warren's high dive political belly flop.
Some are wondering if, due to this FUBAR, Warren's 2020 presidential campaign is over before it begins.
But nearly two months after Ms. Warren released the test results and drew hostile reactions from prominent tribal leaders, the lingering cloud over her likely presidential campaign has only darkened. Conservatives have continued to ridicule her. More worrisome to supporters of Ms. Warren’s presidential ambitions, she has yet to allay criticism from grass-roots progressive groups, liberal political operatives and other potential 2020 allies who complain that she put too much emphasis on the controversial field of racial science — and, in doing so, played into Mr. Trump’s hands.Advisers close to Ms. Warren say she has privately expressed concern that she may have damaged her relationships to Native American groups and her own standing with progressive activists, particularly those who are racial minorities. Several outside advisers are even more worried: They say they believe a plan should be made to repair that damage, possibly including a strong statement of apology.
Let's pull the curtain back. There's a chance The New York Times article quoted above isn't an actual concern for Warren so much as it's a plant from any one of the 218 other rumored Democrat candidates hoping to scalp her. Kamala Harris' and Kirsten Gillibrand's entire campaigns are founded on the possession of uteruses. Or is that "uteri"? Not sure, get back to us on that. Warren is just an easy woman to bump off, paving the way for the other double X chromosome candidates. So they're aiming to oust Chief High Tax before the end of the year.
Whatever the root cause, it's fun to revel in your opponent's unforced errors. Witnessing such a leftist icon scalp herself because she miscalculated, thinking only MAGA-Americans cared about Warren's Pocahontas scandal, is just delicious.
