Leftists seem dead-set on opening up our borders and letting every hombre and hombrette cross the border, no questions asked. Usually for pretty racist reasons, like needing gardeners and janitors (see Kelly Osbourne Defends Illegal Immigrants by Being SUPER Racist). Because those lawns aren't going to tend themselves, you bigot. In their latest act of tolerance, progressives have set up designated "sanctuary cities" where the local po-po will turn a blind eye to any shady migrants who might wander in. But guess who's not having any of it? Texas Governor Greg Abbott...

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) is proposing "real penalties" - including possibly arrest - for officials who continue to adopt sanctuary city policies.

Under a bill that has passed the Texas Senate, Abbott said that in addition to defunding cities that adopt "sanctuary" policies for illegal immigrants, public officials could be prosecuted. "If you have a public official, including a sheriff, who continues to adopt sanctuary city policies after this ban goes into place, they could be criminally prosecuted and themselves wind up in jail. The place they are releasing dangerous criminals from."

He specifically called out Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez, who has vowed to continue sanctuary policies and reduce cooperation with federal authorities on possible deportations of criminal aliens. Abbott said Hernandez has released 50 criminal aliens from her jails this month, including one who was accused of sexually assaulting a child.

"This is dangerous and I will not allow it," said Abbott, calling on Congress to pass the necessary funding for the immigration enforcement crackdown proposed by President Donald Trump.

Now, contrast this with the "sentences" that recently seeped from the mouth hole of Bill De Blasio (see Moron of the Year: De Blasio Says Drunk Driving OK... When Illegals Do It and NYC Won't Deport Illegal Thieves Because 'They're Breadwinners.' Yes, Really...). After one manages to interpret his garbling, it's plain to see that Bill has no intention of enforcing the law when it comes to some people. If they're illegal enough, that is.

These are the phlegm wads Abott is addressing in the satisfying clip above. While guys like Abbott simply care about national security, the left has implied that all tough immigration laws are fresh from Trump's special racist pen. Not so, clearly (read Dear Liberals: No, There's Nothing Racist About Securing Borders).

Planting oneself here illegally? Not a right. In fact, it's a crime. Hence the term "illegal." For more details, see the law. The problem here is that the left has simply decided to ignore the law because it doesn't support their agenda. Sort of like how they prefer to ignore facts when they aren't convenient.
