Leftist Harvard Students 'Triggered' by... American Flag?
Remember when Harvard was where our best and brightest went to get their best and brightest education? In fact it had a sterling reputation of higher learning. Only the best of the best were allowed admittance. Ok, so that was a long time ago (see Harvard Tries Hiding ‘Debate’ Video: ‘Kill Yourself over White Privilege’ and TRIGGERED: Harvard Caves, Removes ‘Master’ From Job Titles…). Now, they claim the American Flag is a political statement. Not the Confederate flag. Just regular Old Glory...
In another chapter of the ongoing suppression of free speech and expression across university and college campuses via the expansion of leftism, a student of Harvard University joined Fox News Channel's Megyn Kelly to share several revealing anecdotes. With stories highlighting students seemingly incapable of tolerating opposing views on the morality of abortion or the display of the American flag, Rachel Huebner added to the growing index of incidents illustrating the advancement of left-wing political culture on campuses nationwide. In an incident in which a student was offended by the American flag, Huebner recalled the story of a friend, who was stopped by his roommate from hanging Old Glory on a wall in their residence apartment.
“My friend, who’s a freshman, on the first day of college took out an American flag from his suitcase, and his roommate stopped him, saying that the presence of the flag on the wall was a political statement that he was unwilling to make,” said Huebner.
Seriously, just find a good trade school. Also, TRIGGER-WARNING:
If the American flag offends you, genuine question: how do you go about your day? Seriously. Granted I've never been to Boston. I'm not sure how far left that place is regards its display of flags, but I'm thinking there are a few American flags here and there. Like at a tire shop or a Dairy Queen. Dunkin Donuts. Places like that. Because this is, after all, the United States of America.
Second question: what political statement is a country's flag making? That the country has a flag?
I just saw that Gif and had to use it. Not sorry.
Okay, I obviously know why some ninnymuggins find offense at the American flag. Patriotism is a problem if you don't believe in freedom, capitalism, free markets. Or if, like many of the current generation, you've been piped through the public education system where you've been told, since kindergarten, that America is unjust, immoral, the source of all corruption (read Dear Millennials: Your Love of Socialism Could be America's Downfall...). How nice for you. You've experienced so many dangers in this terrible country, you're such a brave little soldier, the mere sight of the American flag?
Yeah, that's how terrible America is. The sight of its flag is triggering.
Perhaps college students need to have a mandatory year abroad. In Syria. Or maybe Cuba, now that place is "open." Ladies, take a stroll through a Swedish street. At night. Or during the day. Either way, you might get raped by a Muslim migrant. Try also France, Germany, Belgium. Maybe you won't even need a full year abroad to realize just how crappy the rest of the world is. Yes, even places you admire as socialist utopias. Take a few trips. Even though things in America right now aren't exactly stellar, they're still a crapton better than everywhere else.
