SURPRISE! Harvard Study Highlights Mainstream Media's Anti-Trump Bias. It's Yuge...
It's no surprise to anyone with a television remote or Googling capabilities that the idea of the media being impartial is about as real as Pamela Anderson's chesticles. The media is biased as crap, especially toward those of a non-leftist persuasion. Want an example? Ask and ye shall receive.
There's a new study from Harvard, yes that Harvard, pointing out the media's overwhelming anti-Trumpness...
A new report from Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy analyzes news coverage of President Trump’s first 100 days in office.Of the past four presidents, only Barack Obama received favorable coverage during his first 100 days, after which the press reverted to form. During his second 100 days, Obama’s coverage was 57 percent negative to 43 percent positive.
"Reverted to form" can also translate to sycophantic butt-kissing. If you were curious.
Trump’s coverage during his first 100 days set a new standard for negativity. Of news reports with a clear tone, negative reports outpaced positive ones by 80 percent to 20 percent. Trump’s coverage was unsparing. In no week did the coverage drop below 70 percent negative and it reached 90 percent negative at its peak.Fox was the only outlet where Trump’s overall coverage nearly crept into positive territory—52 percent of Fox’s reports with a clear tone were negative, while 48 percent were positive. Fox’s coverage was 34 percentage points less negative than the average for the other six outlets.
No word yet on how much of the negative coverage was tin-hatter conspiracy theories about Trump and his slav-squatting Russian comrades, defaming Hillary between shots of Stolichnaya.
From the moment Trump cast the pant-suited demon known as Hillary back into the lake of fire, the media has been on an unholy crusade against him. The idea of Trump getting fair coverage has been but a pipe dream all along.
Trump has had his share of screw-ups in his first 100 days, sure. From his compulsive tweeting, to letting Sean Spicer anywhere near a microphone, the ride's been a little bumpy. But, let's be honest, other Presidents would have to strangle a prostitute to get the level of negative coverage Trump gets for having an extra scoop of ice cream.
The media seems to have also glossed over some of the finer points of Trump's first 100. The economy is on its way back, we've helped 40,000 illegals find their way home (Aw), and we're finally giving ISIS what for. Even the staunchest of leftists would have to admit, it hasn't been all bad.
The Donald is not perfect by a long shot. He's never endeared himself to the media, so of course they're not going to go easy on him. But, this study is showing some very deeply-seated biases. It's safe to say 80% negative coverage is more than a statistical anomaly.
While we're on the subject...
