If you want to sip some of the best coffee in the world, go to Kona, Hawaii. If you want to dwell in one of the most left-leaning, most hypocritical states in the USA, also visit Hawaii. Two birds, one lava rock. Beware the falling coconuts and abundant stupidity. One thing you won't have to beware of are refugees. Read on.

This week, Hawaii virtue signaled to the world that, yes, they too would oppose Trump's so-called "travel ban" (which simply vets people from certain terroristy countries from entering the USA). How woke, lofty and noble of Hawaii. Except... they weren't taking refugees to begin with.

Aaaaawwwwkwaaaaaard!

In Fiscal year 2015, Hawaii accepted seven refugees as per records from the Office of Refugee Resettlement. The recorded refugee acceptance for that fiscal year, only District of Columbia accepted fewer refugees with five for the same period.

The seven refugees the state accepted, one came from Ukraine, one from China and five from Burma. Notably, none of the refugees came from any terror-torn countries in the Middle East.

Which means what Hawaii is doing now is what leftists world-wide do every day: change and enforce the rules for everyone but themselves. Shorter: embody douchbaggery. Shorter still: asshats.

With the resettlement record, the State still leads the legal challenge against the President’s new executive order on immigration. The State of Hawaii will certainly not have any major role when it comes to refugee relocation, the State however wants to play a major role in molding the immigration and resettlement policy through the legal process.

Hawaii wants everyone to know how much they care... without taking any of the responsibility themselves. Sounds like textbook liberalism. Instead, they'll lend their virtue signaling and legal pomposity to the rest of the USA, who they'll bully encourage to take refugees, while they keep Hawaii refugee and migrant free. Especially migrants from the Middle East. But wait, there's another reason the residents of Hawaii can virtue signal all the sunny day, and ensure they keep their state elitist:

Hawaii is not an attractive place for refugees, first off the location makes extensive resettlement logistically impractical. The state is also known for their high cost of living, which will potentially be a big burden for migrant families to begin with.

And there you go. Hawaii, because of its geographical location and expensive cost of living (Mark Zuckerberg has a lovely pad there), is inoculated from taking in refugees at all. See also Beverly Hills, Washington D.C., and any other affluent area of the USA from which the majority of virtue signaling liberal butt plugs espouse their lofty ethics. Knowing they're safe from actually experiencing the ramifications of those same policies they're endorsing. It's leftism 101. The rules are for everyone else (especially the middle class and poor, whom they claim to champion every two years come election time), but not them. Heroes, all.

Incidentally, since Hawaii is surrounded by the PACIFIC OCEAN, they also have an easier time keeping illegal immigrants off their precious islands. It's no wonder their understanding of the plight the lower 48 states equals that of a single macadamia nut.

Reminds me of all those liberal churches who refuse to take refugees...
