Unless you're Amish, it's obvious that comic book movies are kind of a big deal right now. Theaters are constantly playing them because they're guaranteed to bring in all the buckage. Ch-ching! But when bitter leftists see the hugeness of nerd culture, they take that as their cue to ruin it. They are, after all, the ruiners of all things. Mostly by way of whining. So, of course, we get silly campaigns to turn the next Captain America movie into Brokeback Mountain. Also scores of movie badasses with the lady-parts. Which is about as realistic as a boy who can climb walls and shoot spiderwebs from his wrists.

Well, it turns out SJW-ing all the comics is bad for business...

Marvel’s vice president of sales has blamed declining comic-book sales on the studio’s efforts to increase diversity and female characters, saying that readers “were turning their noses up” at diversity and “didn’t want female characters out there”.

Over recent years, Marvel has made efforts to include more diverse and more female characters, introducing new iterations of fan favourites including a female Thor; Riri Williams, a black teenager who took over the Iron Man storyline as Ironheart; Miles Morales, a biracial Spider-Man and Kamala Khan, a Muslim teenage girl who is the current Ms Marvel.

But speaking at the Marvel retailer summit about the studio’s falling comic sales since October, David Gabriel told ICv2 that retailers had told him that fans were sticking to old favourites. “What we heard was that people didn’t want any more diversity,” he said. “They didn’t want female characters out there. That’s what we heard, whether we believe that or not.”

It seems that Marvel is currently trying to erase their straight, white, male characters. The problem? A large percentage of their fanbase consists of straight, white dudes. Oopsie.

Here's a novel idea for you, Marvel peeps. Maybe get creative and invent new female, black, or homo characters. Geeks have been following those comics since they were rocking Huggies. Completely upending your characters in a lazy effort for diversity alienates the core fanbase of nerdy white guys. You know, the ones who like the original characters. #Business101

Leftists are busy pushing for Thor to grow bewbs. But if the writers turn a minority character white...

Changing up story lines is just another attempt by the left to inject politics into every nook and cranny of our lives. Most people enjoy comics, and nerdy things in general, because they're a form of escapism. A short siesta away from the silliness of the outside world. Clearly Marvel's fans are into reading about superheroes saving the world and getting the girl, not diatribes about "diversity" and "tolerance."

Marvel and all the other comic companies have every right to virtue-signal promote diversity in their characters, even at the expense of the story and said characters. Capitalism and whatnot. So, go for it, gents. Just don't come whining to the rest of us when that plan Hulk-smashes your profit margins.
