Yes, Really…). But if you thought she was impressive last year, she's already looking to up her game in 2016...

It seems to me that part of what happened in each of these cases is — and the question of fear — is it in part because we live in a country where really anybody at any moment might, in fact, have a gun. Again, I keep thinking about Quintonio’s father in Chicago calling for help for his son, calling the police, and his son ends up shot and killed by the police. Now I don’t know exactly what happened, we will be learning more. But I presume some part of it is that these police officers think that this kid might be armed because we think everybody might be armed. Shouldn’t officers be the number one folks behind gun control?

Granted, this starts off as your typical leftist blargle. But wait for it...

Yes, really. That was not merely a statement, but Melissa's argument.

Yes.

Never mind the fact that a lot of wives protect themselves by shooting intruders looking to rape and/or otherwise harm them. Never mind that plenty of firearms are used to defend countless, weaker, defenseless people across the country on a daily basis. Hell, never mind the fact that most firearms will go untouched, unfired, nestled safely in their closet and/or gun-safe for the duration of their ownership.

Because the key thing with firearms to remember is that "a lot of people shoot their wives with perfectly legal guns." To Melissa Harris Perry, that's reason enough for the cops to be given the right to take your guns away. Also, don't you just love this awkward moment where Melissa Harris Perry, who's been condemning the police force as a racist, unjust institution is now making the case that they should be the only ones allowed to carry guns?

Okay, the comedy here is that Melissa Harris Perry is being, well, Melissa Harris Perry. The important point here is that, yet again, leftists showcase why they have no idea as to what The Second Amendment actually means.
