Once in a while a conservative speaker will venture on campus, straight into the leftist den of hades. It's not for the faintest of hearts, nor the wimpiest of spines (see Leftist Crybabies Gathering to Protest Steven Crowder at SMU). Conservative speaker and former NFL star recently waded into the murky waters at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He was promptly scolded and screamed at for betraying his race. His crime: speaking to students about leadership, specifically related to black communities.

It didn't take long for student SJWs to start writhing in protest. This video is timestamped to start around the time a student calls Burgess "Uncle Tom." Goodie gumdrops.

In one case, after questioning Owens on his views of police brutality and the school-to-prison pipeline, both of which are issues Owens deals with in his work with the One Heart Project, the audience member proceeded to ask him “what was your name again?”

“Burgess Owens,” he replied, to which the student commented that she “thought it was Tom,” in reference to Uncle Tom, before storming out of the auditorium.

Not the most clever of insults. Though I can't expect much from students who regularly skip class to protest.

The video goes on to show students hijacking the microphone and screaming over Burgess. This is leftist tolerance in action. Any minority who dares break liberal rank can expect to be publicly shamed. All must adhere to the narrative. Yet it's the left who touts racial #wokeness.

Americans are always going to disagree on things. As Burgess Owens says, the important thing is that we can have civil discourse. For instance, debating without lighting each other on fire or throwing sucker punches. Something liberal ninnies tend to struggle with.
