Leftists (like Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton) incessantly point to Sweden as being one of the most progressive countries for gender equality, and often paint it as the best country for women.

Read the full report, because it goes into detail. But there is one part that stood out, especially as leftists in this country have been crying ISLAMOPHOBIA all week whenever you disagree with them on how to handle ISIS, or to respond to the terror attack in Paris...

Michael Hess, a local politician from Sweden Democrat Party, encouraged Swedish journalists to get acquainted with Islam's view of women, in connection with the many rapes that took place in Cairo's Tahrir Square during the "Arab Spring". Hess wrote, "When will you journalists realize that it is deeply rooted in Islam's culture to rape and brutalize women who refuse to comply with Islamic teachings. There is a strong connection between rapes in Sweden and the number of immigrants from MENA-countries [Middle East and North Africa]."

This remark led to Michael Hess being charged with "denigration of ethnic groups" [hets mot folkgrupp], a crime in Sweden. In May last year, he was handed a suspended jail sentence and a fine -- the suspension was due to the fact that he had no prior convictions. The verdict has been appealed to a higher court.

Granted, America isn't that politically correct (yet) and we still believe in the freedom of speech, no matter how many college students complain about it. But when you let political correctness get in the way of protecting citizens...

Also, when Islamists get all rapey, I kind of have a problem with that. I would assume feminists and western leftists do as well, right? When you're facing an actual, statistically verifiable rape culture, you're going to do something about it, right?
