Tim Allen Finally Breaks His Silence on Roseanne
It's necessary for all right leaning people, especially the five of them in Hollywood, to speak out about Roseanne. Because Roseanne has spoken out about Roseanne (see Oh My: Roseanne Barr Returns with ANOTHER Attack on Valerie Jarrett and Five Story Lines to Expect from “The Conners” The “Roseanne Reboot” Reboot.). According to the rules, now everyone who's ever uttered an opinion ever must opine about Roseanne. The only holdout was Last Man Standing star, Tim Allen.
"She was the most diverse and tolerant woman I've ever known for a long time. So, whatever got in her head isn't the Roseanne that I know."
He's talking about this famously racist tweet:
Are these racist? These are tweets by Sarah Jeong who was just hired to the NYT editorial board. https://t.co/B3P7ay8QNR— Armin Navabi (@Armin Navabi) 1533217711.0
Wait, that's the new hire for the New York Times editorial board. Whoopsy daisy. I must have lost the Roseanne tweet, but I'm sure you know it. It was the one about Valerie Jarrett and Planet of the Apes. Something about haircuts.
The actual wording of Roseanne's racist or not racist tweet is neither here nor there. Who can remember the exact wording anyhow? Besides, Allen's thoughts about Roseanne aren't as relevant to our time as media may make it out to be. What matters more are Allen's thoughts on where comedy is heading:
"It's a very icy time. I've been a comedian for 38 years. What Lenny Bruce said at the Purple Onion in 1951...we've gone backwards. There's things you can't say, there's things you shouldn't say. Who makes up these rules? As a stand-up comic, it's a very dangerous position for me to be in because I like pushing buttons. It's very sensitive. I don't know what Roseanne [meant] … but that's not the woman I know. Whatever came out of that, whatever she said by that, she is inclusive and tolerant. It's unfortunate."
We'll see what the new season of Last Man Standing brings. But I'm betting leftists have already scoured the internet for anything they can find on any cast member to get it taken off the air. You agree?
