If you look back on the past eight years, it’s hard to argue one of the most offensive aspects of the political left was how it treated our veterans (see FLASHBACK: Obama Admin Put Veterans on âTerror Watch ListââŚÂ and Liberal Press Demands Instead of Veterans⌠We Should Honor Pot-Smoking Hippies).
This morning, many are looking at this Marcus Luttrell speech as a reminder of the debt we owe them.
âThe only way we survive this is together â not apart,â Luttrell said. âIn order for any life to matter, we all have to matter, you understand?â
He called on the ânext generationâ to prepare themselves to take the mantle from his generation because âyour war is here.â He asked who in the younger generations will âlove something more than you love yourselfâ and who will âstep up and take the fight to the enemy,â challenging everyone to âfight for your country.â
âThe world outside of our borders is a dark place â a scary place,â Luttrell said. âAmerica is the light, and her people are the goodness that grows from that. Sheâll always be worth fighting for â it was my greatest honor to fight for her every day of my adult life.â
Ultimately, the high-profile veteran ended his remarks by thanking those in attendance for âallowingâ him to serve in the armed forces for 20 years.
âI swear to God Iâm going to spend the next 20 paying you back,â he said.
This is a shining example of leadership, a grateful heart, and true patriotism. Serving one’s country with distinction, with honor, not demanding one’s country shell out fat stacks of tax-payer cash so you can study gender fluidity. Make sure you know the difference, you leftist twits.
Of course lecturing leftists on what matters to America (or life in general) is an exercise in futility. I get that. I just wanted to fire a pot shot.
Having a strong military is, as Luttrell says, key to a strong America. This seems to be something many on the left do not understand. The reason the rest of the world can have smaller militaries is because we have a strong one. We can rescue other nations, we can keep them safe, because America is so strong. And of course, the left hates strength.
But here’s where Luttrell goes deep: he recognizes one of America’s greatest enemies is here. He doesn’t say specifically what that enemy is, because he doesn’t have to. He’s at the RNC. A great threat to our liberty in America is those who hate America, who wish to see it rebuilt into something it was never intended to be. If you want to know what, take a look at Bernie Sanders and his cultish followers, who constantly demand free crap from an ever-growing government.
